Amazon Launches the much talked about Fire Phone, with 3d features and live recognition

The much awaited device from the international retailer Amazon has finally been unveiled at an event on Wednesday. The Fire Phone is supposed to be the most innovative phone of 2014. The Fire Phone sports 3-D, 4.7-inch high-definition display, aluminum buttons, a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm processor, Adreno 330 graphics, and 2GB of RAM, dual stereo speakers, a 13-megapixel rear camera which has a f/2.0 lens, and optical image stabilisation; which allows the shutter to stay open four-times longer than most cameras to balance the hand tremors and shaking while taking photos. Gorilla Glass 3 is present on the front and back, the buttons are made of aluminum and stainless steel details and clubbed with a rubberized polyurethane grip. The phone is powered by a 2400mAh battery according to the company gives the phone a 285 hours of standby time, up to 22 hours of talk time, up to 65 hours of audio playback and up to 11 hours of video playback.

An impressive feature included in the Fire Phone which brings live image recognition to it called Firefly will let users recognise physical objects using the camera. Things including books, video games, food, household products and other items can be recognised with “Firefly” and then be bought on Amazon instantly. It also recognises phone numbers and email addresses and then they can be added to a new contact or used to initiate a call or email. The phone also has a dedicated Firefly button that pulls the feature up in one second, according to Amazon.
The Amazon Fire Phone will start at $199.99 on contract with 32GB of storage, and a 64GB version will be available for $299.99. Without the contract, the phone will be priced in line with the iPhone, starting at $650. With any purchase option, the phone comes with a 12 months of Amazon Prime service for free.
