The Xolo Play Tegra Note has surfaced as the fastest 7 inch tablet in the Indian markets specially designed for the rapidly growing gamer population of the country. Powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with a 72-core GeForce GPU and quad-core CPU, the tablet packs enough power to run the most demanding games without a single trace of lag.
The Tegra Note has a 7-inch 216 ppi pixel density LCD capacitive touchscreen which provides a widescreen display. There’s a tiny dot on the top for a front facing VGA camera. Two strategically placed matte plastic strips on the sides form the stereo loudspeakers, promising a rich multimedia experience. Tegra Note has a plastic body with rubberized grips around the sides and on the back for durability, providing it a heavy-duty look. Weighing 320 grams it is heavier than its competitor Nexus 7. The ports and buttons –a Micro-USB, Micro-HDMI, and a microSD card slot, power and volume buttons, and a 3.5mm headset port – are all placed around the edges. The slots are fully exposed without a rubber flap for protection. Another drawback in the Tegra Note is that it has no cellular data capability. Without a SIM card slot, we had to depend on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity.
The back of the device is a mix of glossy and rubberized plastic, with NVIDIA and XOLO logos. The lens for the 5- megapixel 2592х1944 pixels camera is located on the top right corner. The Tegra Note also comes with a chic stylus that is located at the rear end of the device on the right side.
The Tegra Note lacks heavily in the software section. Typing is a pain as the keypad is very tacky and the words get auto corrected without an option to change them back. This makes entering text a very tedious process. The stylus is very responsive and a handy. Talking in terms of the battery backup, the tablet is powered by a 4100 mAh battery that can last for 6 hours while playing high performance 3D games. While playing HD videos, the battery would last upto 8 hours.
