inspired by Amazon, flipkart to come up with its own range of tablets

The Indian E-Commerce giant Flipkart is working on its launch of its own brand of tablets PCs under the label DigiFlip. Following the footsteps of Amazon who've enjoyed incredible success with their kindle line of e-readers and tablet PCs, Flipkart is all set to try its luck in this direction.
Just like other Indian based smartphone and tablet manufacturers, Flipkart is expected to directly import the devices from OEMs in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. While Amazon on the other hand, employees its very own R&D teams to develop devices which are later manufactured on contract basis by companies. Flipkart has declined to comment on the reports. “We would not like to comment on market speculation,” says a Flipkart spokesperson.
The Launch of tablets by Flipkart is supposedly aimed at boosting margins even as competition grows in the e-commerce segment. The question that rises here is that will this move from Flipkart be able to even stand the competition it will have to face from the high end tablets from international brands like Apple and Samsung which are already popular in Indian markets. Even pricing them in the budget range will be a gamble since Indian brands like Micromax and Xolo will be waiting to crush the product in the market.
