Metis Learning launches learning tablet for kids

Metis Learning has launched Android tablet "Eddy" for kids between the age group of 2-10 years. The tablet can be configured by the parents for three age brackets, 2-4 years, 5-7 years and 8-10 years. At the time of configuration, you have to enter your child's age which will unlock close to 70 apps on the tablet. As your child grows up, other apps start getting unlocked on the tablet.
The tablet contains games that are specifically designed for kids to enhance their learning process. There are parental controls provided in the tablet through which the browser can show only reliable content thereby creating a kid-safe environment. Apart from that parents can also set time limits for their children to play on Eddy.
Eddy has a 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600 p resolution display, a 0.3 megapixel front camera and a 2 megapixel back camera. It runs on Android 4.2 and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM. It has got an internal storage of 8GB with a memory card slot expandable up to 32GB. It doesn't support Bluetooth connectivity but apps can be downloaded over Wi-Fi. Its 3200 mAh battery can last for more than four hours.
It comes along with a pre-loaded 'kid's radar' app which helps you to get the best education and learning applications for hildren. This actually save time on digging the play store for such apps. Previously Micromax came up with a student friendly tablet , Micromax Funbook. Apart from these there are many such tablets available in the market such as Swipe Junor, HCL Me Champand LeapPad 2.
