Samsung Galaxy S5 Specs Leak, 5.24″ 2K Display, Snapdragon 805 or Exynos 6 CPU
Samsung has scheduled an ‘Unpacked 5′ event for February 24 in Barcelona, where it is expected to announce its flagship smartphone for 2014, Galaxy S5. The rumored specs, and then some, have already been with us for some time. And now, controversial Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, who had earlier predicted February 23 as the announcement date for the purported smartphone, has tweeted what he claims to be the final specs of the device.
The upcoming smartphone is rumored to sport a 5.24-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD (2K, 2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution at 560 ppi pixel density, a bump in every department over its predecessor, the Galaxy S4, which sported a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution at 441ppi pixel density. The Galaxy S5 is supposedly powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU or Samsung’s home brewed Exynos 6 chipset, akin to how the Korean giant offered its previous flagship device. Both the variants are expected to be paired with 3GB of RAM.
The device should house a 16-megapixel primary camera, probably capable of 4K video recording, along with a 3.2-megapixel front facing snapper for video calls. A choice of 32 or 64GB would be the on board storage options, with seemingly, 16GB getting the boot. It is heartening to see Samsung beginning to offer better internal storage, and we hope this policy is soon adopted by the other manufacturers. A rather generous 3,200 mAh battery rounds out the rumored spec list.
