The Android Wear Smartwatches, with the tagline “information as you move”, has been the much talked about delight among techies, since the demo and the launch of the Moto 360, Samsung Gear Live & the LG G watch at the Google I/O by David Singleton, the Director of Engineering working at Android
The idea behind creation of such Smartwatches was to miniaturize technology & make a powerful computer so compact that it is easily wearable on the body and yet keep the comfort and style of the person wearing it intact. This device gives quick & relevant information as and when you need it with minimal interactions with the device, so that you don’t miss any important information, and also letting you engage with the people you are with.

With the many apps integrated in it, like any other android device, it tries to give you an experience a “Hands-free” one, by letting you make voice replies to new messages coming in or making voice automated searches to help you find what you need in your current location by constantly interacting with your environment.
To keep up with the experience what these Wears intend to make, Facebook has now upgraded its messenger app to version 9 for all Android wear devices. The new version is more Android Wear-focused, thus adding the feature of “voice-reply” where you can directly make a voice reply from your Android Wear device.

This upgradation announcement was made by Ian Lake, the Android software engineer at Facebook, via his Google+ post. He also added that for many users, messenger app v9 also has other features like sending a thumbs-up reply, or mute conversations/notifications from the selectable “actions” option directly from your Android Wear device.
The new features are now for all android Smartphones & Wears. But for now, where the Android Wear is still not launched in India, the version 9 messenger app is available on Google Play Store for Android Smartphone users, though the exact version of the app varies from device-to-device.
With so many improvements being made on the Android Wear & the apps, the number of utilities the Smartwatches can provide is innumerable, and makes the waiting game by the time it’s launched in India all the more exciting!
