WWDC’14: Is iOS 8 finally here?
By Aavika Dhanda , June 6 , 2014
Features likes Extension, Widgets for Apps in Notification centers, changing keyboard, third party photo app, open access to Touch ID have brought in happy clouds over heads of users and developers. These new features allows the ‘apps’ to communicate with each other via iOS 8.
Apple is perhaps, for the first time, giving its users the opportunity to take full control on the iOS interface by creating widgets extensions within the notification center. Which means, earlier the shortest way of sharing a photo was to go to the options provided by the interface and upload photos, such as via Facebook, Twitter etc. Now, more options are available directly such as Whatsapp, Instagram etc and share a photo on any app directly from iOS 8 itself. One wouldn’t have to open each app to perform this. Hence, saves time.
One interesting feature is Touch ID for third-party app. Which means a user can log-in without typing the passwords again and again giving the user an ease to access apps. More features include, a user to ‘like’ posts directly from notifications and reply to a message without opening the app repeatedly.
The new iOS 8 can and will save a lot of time for users. Lets see what WWDC’14 has more to offer.
