The Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi, also known as the "Apple" of China has launched its flagship smartphone, the Mi3 in India at a back-breaking price of Rs 14,999. Yes! If things go as planned by Xiaomi, it will practically kill the markets for Micrimax and many Indian smartphone makers which are gaining momentum day by day. The USP of the Mi3 is of course its hardware configuration that is exactly the same as that of the Google Nexus 5, the LG G2, and the Sony Xperia Z1. The phone was launched in international market in the second half of 2013 at a higher price tag of $330. This time Xiaomi looks all set to take over the smartphone market in India with an aggressive pricing of the Mi3 which actually makes us wonder if the company will actually make profits at that price tag.
The Mi3 has specifications that would leave anyone spellbind. The phone houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM, a 5" full HD IPS (441 PPI)display from LG or Sharp with Adreno 330 GPU to support high end graphics and a 16 GB(non-expandable) inbuilt storage. The Camera this phone features is of 13MP (4128 x 3096) pixels with dual LED flash sourced from Philips, along with a 2 MP front shooter. Both the cameras as capable of recording a full HD video. A battery of 3,050 mAh can keep it running for 24 hours with heavy usage. The OS is well customized version of Jelly Bean 4.3. Now all those specs of at less than half the price of any high Sony Xperia Z1 or LG G2 or Nexus 5 with exactly the same make and model of hardware is what Xiaomi is offering with the Mi3.
Xiami does not support Play store in china but it will be supported in models released in India. The Mi3 shall be available from the 15th of July onward. No words about the retailer as yet so you need to get hooked to your computer screens for any update from the company as Xiaomi will come up with limited stocks of Mi3.
